[Early afternoon - Kincaid Hive Four]
It's been a cloudy all morning and because of that, most of the bees have stayed close to their hives. I don't blame them. I've been the same way myself these past few months.
I've kept up with deliveries but there's been no time to socialize other than a few chance minutes here and there. Molly's doing much better, helping when she can and giving directions when she can't. She's just as bossy as ever and I wouldn't have her any other way. Instead of breaking Molly's spirit, Edith's attack seems to have done the opposite with Molly following Dr. Constantine's instructions exactly. Honestly, I think she's got a crush on him and if he wasn't already with Wanda, I really believe that she'd insist on feeding him on a permanent basis.
It gets me thinking about Wanda and Mab... and Kate. And even Paige. I just can't seem to get it right with anyone long enough to keep them around. Admittedly, Kate's my own fault. I didn't pursue her. At the time, the choice was easy. Molly was hurt and needed me to take care of her but I wonder sometimes, if I could have stolen an hour or two for Kate. I'd heard she was keeping company with one of the local smiths but also that nothing came of it. Missed chances everywhere.
Closing the barn door behind me, I set the latch and pull off my gloves. It's a late lunch today but since most of the work's already done, I can kick back and relax for a while. Peeling off my work-shirt, I quickly wipe down with a spare towel before putting on a clean t-shirt and brushing the grass from my hair. Smiling to myself, I open Molly's basket and begin to lay out the tablecloth and the usual large lunch, laughing when I find the bottle of mead. The tavern mistress is very generous and Molly and I both agreed it was one of the better 'get well' gifts as I pop it open and pour a glass for myself. Sitting down, I begin to eat lunch as I consider what to do with the rest of my day.
