[The Dormouse]
Lucien and I spent a most enjoyable day after our discussion was done...but it did not shake my resolve in the slightest. It has been far too long since I last saw my dearest friend, and if Lucien is correct then it sounds as though she could very much use someone to talk to. And I am eager to learn of this new man of hers, of course, and see just why Lucien is so uneasy about him...and why Wanda is so enamoured.
At my request, Lucien picks me up just after breakfast and drives me to the Dormouse. He asks if I would like him to come in as well, but I kiss him and tell him to go to work. I think that it is time for some girl talk, particularly if she is indeed so worried about Lucien's reactions. No, no, it is most definitely best if I go in to speak with her alone. I kiss Lucien goodbye and gently shoo him on his way before walking up to the door.
At this hour the Dormouse is closed, but I know Wanda...she will have been up and baking for at least an hour. Leaning on my cane, I rap on the door, "Wanda? Wanda, it is Miao. Are you awake?"
