Leah agrees to join me for tea and my good day just keeps getting better. Having someone else to talk to is especially good and I ask her about her assignment. Smiling wide, "Really? I like interesting. What happened?"
Romana asks what we'd like and I take a quick look at the specials for the day. "The Bliss tea sounds chocolatey so that sounds great, and I've heard all about Mrs. Whitman's lemon scones so two of those for me please." Turning to Leah, I ask, "What're you getting?"
I almost forget my note and I hand it to Romana. "Would you mind passing this to Mrs. Whitman? I'm hoping she'll advertise in the newspaper and send me any details. Please make sure she gets it, okay?"
She nods and I turn back to Leah. "Sorry for the interruption. I've been trying to get in touch with all the local businesses, for news and ads. It's a lot of legwork." I smile again, thinking that maybe I talk too much. "You were going to order, and then tell me about your assignment, right?"
