He sighs at my question and opens his mouth and then pauses before sayin' Its just that-- look, I know it's a godawful silly name. But anything you make it into just seems...sillier. His hand twitches as if he'd like to run it through his hair. I consider what he's said. "Nicknames are often silly," I finally tell him. "But they often mean the person giving it cares to be silly with you. Not like with family where it might be you get one because some little kid can't say your name right." I make a face as I think of being stuck with what Cy calls me. Very. Oh god no. But since I chose a nickname for myself, he deserves one too. "What would you like me to call you instead? Otherwise I'll just keep trying different ones on you." I warn half seriously.
