Verite glares at Melania but it's all in good fun as I laugh and ask, "Two shots? Oh, we can't have that either." I fill two empty shot glasses with Firewhiskey and slide them in Verite's direction as I say, "Your turn," and I lower my voice, laughing softly as I continue on very innocently, "--and don't worry. I have an excellent hangover remedy, upstairs. I'll send it with you later, along with with something special for being so helpful."
My voice returns to its normal volume and I point to her shots, mischievous as I continue, "If you can drink these two shots plus a third, without coughing, then the next time you come in, I'll pay for your drinks, and a friend's. If you can't, then you'll owe me something, a small favor." I glance at the ends of my hair, wondering if I need a trim before smiling again and asking, "Is that fair?"
Turning to Melania, my smile widens as I say, "Oh, and don't think I've forgotten you. If you drink two more shots, and don't cough, I'll make one of the boys clean the restroom for the next week instead of you. And believe me, you want to win this one because I'm convinced that some of the men that use our restroom, can't aim for anything." I laugh again, "I'll just enjoy my cider while you two decide."
